Green Design

Schemmer has built its sustainable foundation on solutions designed to best serve our clients. By calculating installation costs and return on investment, for example, we have helped clients achieve energy savings by upgrading heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems. We continue to integrate improved technology and best practices, such as low-impact landscaping, as we move forward together with clients sustainably.

Seventeen LEED® accredited professionals are among the many Schemmer employees who have worked at the leading edge of sustainable architectural and engineering design. In addition, several of our projects are slated to become LEED® certified. (The U.S. Green Building Council trains and certifies for the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) designation).

In addition, Schemmer has drawn on its expertise in historic preservation as well as architecture to lead forums focused on development of lively, safe and connected public spaces and neighborhoods.
