Airlite Plastics

Omaha, Nebraska

Client:
Airlite Plastics Company

As part of the design/build team, Schemmer developed the design of a new 356,000 SF manufacturing plant for Airlite Plastics Company, located on a 37-acre site near Omaha's Eppley Airport.

The 15,000 SF, 3-level office area was designed to have a warehouse loft look with exposed brick, wood floors and features that display the company heritage. The project also included design of a railroad spur, 200-stall parking lot, public road improvements and semi-truck access to 14 dock doors. The manufacturing operation contains over 30 large vacuum forming machines interconnected with labeling operations.  The remainder of the structure contains a large warehousing and distribution operation, corporate office space, engineering offices, machine shop and storage, mold and stacker storage, maintenance and electronics shop, and other support functions.
