Schemmer was retained by Omaha Public Schools to design the renovation of Burke High School. The renovation included the addition of nine classrooms, a complete mechanical and electrical systems upgrade and the replacement of major plumbing/pool piping. The cafeteria and kitchen also received a complete overhaul. In addition Schemmer replaced the roof and exterior windows/doors, as well as the auditorium and gymnasium seating.
