Schemmer was retained to develop a program and design for expansion and renovation of the 50-year old school, including extensive mechanical renovation and replacement. The existing HVAC system was replaced with a new geothermal heat pump system that provides individual control to all classrooms and offices. Exterior lighting for the building was also upgraded. The design increases ventilation effectiveness, and greatly reduces energy costs.
