Phased renovation of the Douglas County Health Center has transformed hospital and psychiatric wards into a state-of-the-art care facility with semi-private and private rooms serving a range of ages and capabilities. On two floors, windows were replaced and the interiors gutted to create new spaces. Upgrades to the 5th floor psychiatric section Included HVAC, a new nurses station, lighting and floor coverings. Construction phasing kept the majority of space in operation during the work.
Separate projects involved the following:

• Electrical upgrade of 75-year-old facility.
• Fire alarm and nurse call systems.
• Two solarium wings, transforming the former dining rooms for Alzheimer's and long-term care patients into brighter living, visiting and recreation space.
