The expansion to the Medical Center facility created a bridge from an upper floor to an ambulance/parking access drive, and to the nearby Lied Transplant Center and Special Services Pavilion. And because the structure is so visible, the new structure was designed to physically as well as visually bridge the differing appearance of the adjacent structures. As well, new and renovated space was created for dining, serving, kitchen production, offices and support areas.
