Transit Avenue Reconstruction

The intersection of Transit Avenue at Morningside Avenue and South St. Aubin had safety issues, oddly aligned approaches, parking problems and outdated traffic signal infrastructure. Schemmer performed a traffic analysis and traffic signal design for the intersection reconstruction project.  Existing conditions were reviewed by obtaining survey data, site reconnaissance visits, utility information, and conducting turning movement counts. The traffic study involved capacity, level-of-service, and crash analysis. Both preliminary and final traffic signal design plans were prepared, along with estimates of construction quantities and costs. Construction phase services included several field visits to observe and visually inspect installed traffic signal components, and a review of shop drawings.
