County Road P35A (Cargill Road)

The County Road P35A project involved the removal and replacement of existing pavement from U.S. Hwy. 75 to the Cargill Corn Milling Complex in Blair, Nebraska. The 0.54-mi. roadway is the southern access serving the Cargill Complex. Daily traffic, 20 percent of which is trucks, is expected to double over the next two decades.

Geotechnical services consisted of: visual review of the existing pavement conditions, determining probable causes of pavement problems; coring of the concrete and sampling of subgrade soils; analyses and field tests of soil subgrade and pavement thickness; and recommendations for pavement improvements. Conditions of the new subgrade and pavement materials were monitored for compliance to construction specifications.
