Cub World/Castle Building
Camp Eagle, Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska
Schemmer was selected by the Boy Scouts of America to complete the Cub World Castle in partnership with Kiewit Construction. Developed to create an outdoor experience for the Cub Scouts program, the two-story building is modeled after European castles. Educational spaces will serve as indoor sleeping areas for overnight stays and a small kitchen will allow for food preparation. The castle is surrounded by a dry mote and a heavy timber entrance draw bridge. The building includes a toilet and shower facility which doubles as storm shelter designed to withstand an F3 tornado while holding approximately 230 people.
