Schemmer ANNOUNCES PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER CERTIFICATIONS

Omaha, Nebraska (January 13, 2003) -- Matthew J. Sutton and Mark D. Pohlmann of Schemmer have been certified as professional engineers in the State of Nebraska.

The Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is granted by the State of Nebraska to acknowledge that an individual is qualified to practice engineering in the state. Engineers receive the P.E. license after passing the Civil Engineering Principles and Practice exam.

Sutton is a civil engineer in the Omaha office, and Pohlmann is a traffic engineer in the Lincoln office. Sutton joined Schemmer in 1999. He achieved a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from South Dakota State University. Sutton specializes in water resource, storm, sanitary and roadway projects, and civil site design. He also works with hydraulic and hydrologic computer modelling. Sutton has received American Concrete Institute’s Field Testing certification, nuclear Density Gauge and Transportation of Hazardous Materials certification, and A.B. Chance Helical Pier Installation certification.

Pohlmann joined Schemmer in 1999. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Nebraska Wesleyan University and both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, where he specialized in transportation/urban systems engineering. Pohlmann specializes in various types of traffic analyses, traffic management design and techniques, and traffic signal and roadway lighting design. He is a member of the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) and has been trained in principles and techniques for involving the community in public projects.
