The Schemmer Associates Inc. is expanding its geotechnical service market and we want YOU to join our team! We are a full-service Architectural-Engineering firm with a focus of serving our clients.  The successful candidate will be highly motivated, independent detail focused and client oriented individual.

We have an immediate opening for a Senior Lead Geotechnical Engineer to provide geotechnical services to our clients on design and construction projects in the Nebraska/Iowa area. Duties include:

• Business Development in the Nebraska/Iowa market sector
• Involvement in various aspects of geotechnical engineering projects from pre-construction geotechnical engineering analysis to final construction geotechnical inspection
• Proposal preparation, analysis and report preparation associated with geotechnical engineering projects that include: light-weight shallow to heavy pile foundation analyses, pavements, bridges, seepage and slope stability analyses, earth dam analyses, ground improvement, retaining wall design parameters, settlement analysis, and sediment characterization.
• Management of sub-consultants
• Performance of geotechnical analysis, engineering and design of shallow and deep foundations for building structures, transportation structures; embankments; retaining walls; and underground structures
• Development of plans and specifications related to geotechnical engineering
• Preparation of geotechnical memorandums and reports
• Mentoring and training of junior staff as department grows

 The candidate applying for this position should meet the following requirements: 

• BS in Civil Engineering program from an accredited School of Engineering
• MS in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Engineering focus preferred
• Nebraska or Iowa PE registration is required
• Minimum of 7 years experience in geotechnical engineering practice
• Experience with Business Development for a Geotechnical Market
• Proven experience in foundation analysis and design
• Proven experience in geotechnical project planning, design & preparation of report
• Proven experience in preparation of geotechnical portions of plans and specifications
• Ability and willingness for travel and fieldwork assignments
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Performs services within core competencies.

 QUALIFICATIONS

• BS in Civil Engineering
• Professional Registration as a Civil Engineer is required
• Minimum of 10 years engineering experience in:
  • Civil Site Design
  • Site Layout
  • Grading
  • Paving
  • Storm Drainage
  • Utilities
  • Storm Water Management
  • Erosion Control
  • Permitting        
• Existing client relationships in Oklahoma City metropolitan area
• Proven ability to develop business from new clients
• Familiarly with zoning processes and regulations
• Experience working with multi-discipline teams on site development projects.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Land Desktop or AutoCAD Civil 3D
