BASIC FUNCTION

Performs specialized functions for Corporate Marketing.  Preparation of qualification based proposals, interview/presentation visual aids, marketing campaigns, and general marketing activities.  Maintains records for the marketing department including but not limited to electronic information in Deltek CRM, photo/graphics library, and proposal library.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Resource for the firm’s Deltek CRM integrated database: 
   1. Updating clients, contacts, opportunities and project informatio
   2. Maintenance of the resumes and project description
   3. Acquire/enter new and/or updated CRM information from Divisional Staff, Accounting and Human Resources
   4. Reporting
2. Proposals & Statement of Qualifications (SOQ’s):
   1. Responsible for data collection, page layout, assembling and distribution of proposals and SOQ’s
   2. Preparation of project-specific standard forms (SF330, NDOR 498 etc.)
   3. Assist in maintaining information flow (internal and external) between and among offices in support of proposal preparation and marketing program
3.  Organize and maintain e-marketing activities, including:
   1. Schemmer website
   2. Schemmer blog
   3. Schemmer social media website
   4. Schemmer newsletter – 3D
   5. Direct electronic mail campaigns (Constant Contact)
   6. Opportunity search engines (FedBizOpps, DAS, City of Omaha, etc.)
4.  Organize and maintain PR activities, including:
   1. Assist Divisional Staff and Corporate Marketing Director with media request
   2. Preparation and submission of press release
   3. Tracking Schemmer in the media and publish in Schemmer Blog
   4. Tracking competition in the media and distributing to Divisional Staff and Corporate Marketing Director
5.  Other general marketing activities:
   1. Project cut-sheets, flyers and brochure
   2. Tradeshow display preparation
   3. Presentation Prep – PowerPoint, Display Boards, Leave Behinds, etc
   4. Graphics and photography formatting and cataloging (Photo Library)
   5. Creation of publication advertisement pieces

 QUALIFICATIONS

1.  1-5 years experience with a multi-discipline architectural-engineering firm beneficial
2. Ability to develop skills utilizing the firm’s integrated database program (Deltek)
3. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
4. Proficient with current publishing software (example: InDesign)
5. Proficient with current website content management software (example: Joomla)
6.  Proficient with current graphics programs (example: Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator)
7. Ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines
8. Ability to conduct research
9. Experienced proposal writing, editing and proofreading
10. Superior interpersonal and oral communication skills
11. Excellent organization and detail orientation
12. Education – prefer bachelor’s degree in marketing or journalism

BASIC FUNCTION

• Leadership, Project Management and Senior Engineering of Engineering & Planning projects in Des Moines.
• Ensures that the Team has an adequate backlog of work to meet or exceed annual growth and profit goals.
• Ensures that the Team is staffed with qualified, competent, knowledgeable employees to meet or exceed annual growth and profit goals.
• Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and supervises all of the activities of the Team.
• Performs services within core competencies.

 QUALIFICATIONS

• BS in Civil Engineering
• Professional Registration as a Civil Engineer is required
• Minimum of 10 years engineering experience in:
  • Civil Site Design
  • Site Layout
  • Grading
  • Paving
  • Storm Drainage
  • Utilities
  • Storm Water Management
  • Erosion Control
  • Permitting        
• Familiarly with zoning processes and regulations
• Experience working with multi-discipline teams on site development projects.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Land Desktop or AutoCAD Civil 3D

The Schemmer Associates Inc. is expanding its geotechnical service market .  The successful candidate will be highly motivated, independent detail focused and client oriented individual.  We have an immediate opening in the Omaha/Lincoln, Nebraska area for a Senior Lead Geotechnical Engineer to provide geotechnical services to our clients on design and construction projects in the Nebraska area. Duties include:

• Business Development in the Nebraska market sector
• Involvement in various aspects of geotechnical engineering projects from pre-construction geotechnical engineering analysis to final construction geotechnical inspection
• Proposal preparation, analysis and report preparation associated with geotechnical engineering projects that include: light-weight shallow to heavy pile foundation analyses, pavements, bridges, seepage and slope stability analyses, earth dam analyses, ground improvement, retaining wall design parameters, settlement analysis, and sediment characterization.
• Management of sub-consultants
• Performance of geotechnical analysis, engineering and design of shallow and deep foundations for building structures, transportation structures; embankments; retaining walls; and underground structures
• Development of plans and specifications related to geotechnical engineering
• Preparation of geotechnical memorandums and reports
• Mentoring and training of junior staff as department grows

 The candidate applying for this position should meet the following requirements: 

• BS in Civil Engineering program from an accredited School of Engineering; MS in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Engineering focus preferred
• Nebraska PE registration is required
• Minimum of 10 years experience in geotechnical engineering practice
• Experience with Business Development for a Geotechnical Market
• Proven experience in foundation analysis and design
• Proven experience in geotechnical project planning, design & preparation of report
• Proven experience in preparation of geotechnical portions of plans and specifications
• Ability and willingness for some travel and fieldwork assignments
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The Schemmer Associates Inc., a full-service A-E consulting firm, has a position available for a Civil Engineer with municipal and CSO (combined sewer overflow) design experience in its Omaha, NE office.  This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a growth-driven company that has been in business for over 50 years.  The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, independent, detail focused and client oriented individual.

This position will serve as Project Manager and perform civil engineering design on municipal projects, including projects associated with CSO. The successful candidate will bolster our existing capacity for performing Municipal/CSO projects.  The ability to communicate orally and in writing both internally and to outside agencies is a must.
