The design includes a new headquarters building, 350 new slips, a 4-boat ramp, and a new kayak launch to name just a few elements. Schemmer provided survey, civil, geotechnical, structural, mechanical, electrical engineering, and architecture services for the land-based features.

Architect Michael Sinclair says the design heavily incorporates the history of Lewis & Clark landing at this location in 1804. One of the many ways that history is integrated into the design can be found in the dimensions of the new headquarters building, particularly the entry “galley" which is the exact width and length of the keel boat (affectionately titled the “barge”) that Lewis & Clark used on their voyage up the Missouri.
