Project Details in Norfolk, Nebraska
The Benjamin Avenue Improvements project is a recently approved design that includes a complete reconstruction of the pavement between 1st Street and 13th Street. Construction components include widening the concrete pavement, new curb and gutter, storm sewer, widened pedestrian sidewalks, enhanced landscaping/streetscaping, and new street lighting. Significant utility coordination has occurred with many of the overhead power lines being buried to clean up the corridor. Three public meetings were conducted along with many stakeholder meetings during the design phase.
The project was approved 6-0 by the Norfolk City Council. The west half of the project is estimated to finish in 2022 followed by the east half in 2023.
