Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home Expansion Groundbreaking

On March 29, 2022, the Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home (ENVH) expansion project broke ground. The 25,000 SF addition was designed by Schemmer and will be built by Perry Reid Construction. Construction will be complete in approximately 16 months.

ENVH Expansion Project

Schemmer provided design services for the Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home which opened in July 2007. The ENVH expansion project will be completed in two phases.

Phase One

30 new skilled nursing beds
Space for adult day health care for 12 veterans

Phase Two

15 two-person living rooms will be converted into 24 private rooms for assisted living

In his remarks, Governor Ricketts said, "We will be able to serve more veterans and their families here at this facility. And we are going to be able to provide a new and innovative service, adult day healthcare, which will allow us to be able to bridge that transition for veterans who are in the home before they really need that skilled nursing care. It should be a great program for our veterans."
