Ryan Langmeier is the Manager of Architecture for Schemmer in Omaha, NE. After 16 years of teaching Architecture and related subjects, he did Academic Administrative work for 4 years before coming onboard with Schemmer. His experience in Architecture spans 33 years total.
Ryan’s interest in Architecture began at a young age.
“When I was about 8 or so, I discovered that I loved to draw. I would look at the Sunday newspaper and draw the house floor plans from the paper,” said Ryan.
His passion for drawing continued to grow. In 8th grade, someone mentioned Architecture for the first time at a career fair.
“In the context of what do you want to be when you grow up and such, someone said these two things were related to Architecture and a light bulb just went off!”
Ryan hasn’t looked back since. Now he lives his dream of drawing and designing everyday.
“I love to draw. I love working with others. I love to sketch. It really comes down to all the details and seeing that come to fruition, and how the client interacts with that space.”
Ryan has a passion for historic preservation and says everyone should have an appreciation for it. He’s also passionate about what he calls “The Process.”
“I always say, ‘don’t cheat the process.’ I feel there should be steps that need to be completed before moving on to the next phase. I feel that’s due diligence to the profession and the client.”
