Project Details
The Hastings Family YMCA in Hastings, Nebraska, has successfully completed its expansion and renovation, transforming the 16th Street Campus into a state-of-the-art facility. Originally constructed in 1978, the campus now boasts significant updates that address its previously dated structure and limited programming capabilities. The project has consolidated the YMCA's two former facilities into a single, comprehensive wellness environment, enhancing accessibility for the entire community.
The renovation introduced a 65,000-square-foot field house, an expanded mezzanine for a larger wellness center, and a modern child development center. The reconfigured locker rooms now better accommodate all users, while the aquatic facilities underwent a complete overhaul. The existing pool, originally installed in 1978, was renovated, and a new recreation-type pool was added, alongside additional features such as a hot tub and steam/sauna units.
Schemmer led a comprehensive approach to space programming, needs analysis, and planning. We provided Architecture, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil Engineering services. Now, the Hastings Family YMCA space successfully meets modern standards and community needs.
