Project Details
Schemmer designed the $2.2M complete overhaul of the previous Skills and Simulation Labs at Clarkson College, doubling the size to span an entire floor at approximately 7,000 SF. Clarkson College's new Interprofessional Learning Center Skills Lab is dedicated to cultivating student success and leading the institution to the next level of excellence in health care education.
The space is fully equipped with four state-of-the-art exam rooms, six hospital patient beds with working headwalls, six exam tables, two classrooms, two faculty offices and a nurse’s station. An additional operating room simulation space allows students to prepare for practice within a realistic surgical area, complete with hospital-grade handwashing sinks and overhead lighting. The Interprofessional Learning Center also includes a fabricated home setting and a debriefing room with video technology for students to review their techniques and improve their skills.
Schemmer provided architecture and interior design services for the project.
