Schemmer was retained by Ford Storage and Moving Company to provide design services for a 150,000 SF addition to their existing warehouse building, expanded parking and stormwater management. As Ford Storage continues to steadily expand, its facilities needed to grow along with the business. The expansion effort more than doubled the area enveloped by Ford Storage’s existing headquarters and provided the company with more than 70,000 SF of temperature-controlled storage so the facility can warehouse climate-sensitive products including food-grade materials and animal health goods. The addition consists of both conditioned space and ambient storage. The building is a pre-engineered metal building with precast concrete wall panels on the north, east and south, and metal panels on the west.
