Project Details

This is the second facility designed and built of a new concept for the eight-state North Central Region. Site adapted from the NCSRCC Training Center and Office design in Papillion, Nebraska, the building operates as an administrative office, training center and local Union Hall.

The first floor office area includes a two-story atrium lobby, administrative space, an apprentice cafeteria, classrooms, a lease space for a related union affiliate, and an indoor training area. The second floor includes a union meeting hall, executive offices, board room, a viewing mezzanine over the training area and “white box” space available for future program expansion. The facility has the potential to train approximately 800 apprentices a year, in addition to providing journeyman-level upgrade classes.

Schemmer provided site evaluation due diligence services for multiple sites and assisted NCSRCC in obtaining the necessary approvals from the City of Altoona. While the building was site adapted, Schemmer and NCSRCC went through a program/use evaluation, which resulted in the interior redesign of the entire second floor.

Testimonials

The thing that stood out to us the most in working with Schemmer is their attention to detail in every aspect of their project. We were impressed every step of the way.
