Project Details
Schemmer designed a new rest area replacing a facility constructed in 1977. The new building, constructed in the same location, enlarged the footprint to accommodate floor space for wheelchair accessibility. The new rest area will provide 2,244 square feet with expanded men’s, women’s and family facilities, a mechanical/utility room and an enclosed entry lobby with space for vending machines. The viewing platform will be maintained with a new concrete surface replacing the deteriorated deck, and a new curved concrete stair will be constructed to access the lower picnic area from the platform.
