Schemmer designed this 62,846 SF, energy saving, two-story elementary school to accommodate 450 students. This new K-5 school contains two separate areas: an academic wing and a multipurpose gymnasium/music wing. The mechanical system included a geothermal well field, variable frequency drive distribution pumps, extended range heat pumps, a outside air (fresh air) dehumidification system to control potential moisture issues and a direct digital control system. The project site-preparation package included rough grading, utilities and roadways to access the site. Construction of this facility was completed three months prior to the desired occupancy date. Schemmer also designed a 12,870 SF addition to Reagan Elementary that included six classrooms and an additional multi-purpose room.
