Schemmer contracted with the City of Tulsa to design a residential rehabilitation for Maintenance Zone 7052 on South Joplin Avenue. The existing roadway was a two-lane curb and gutter street with a closed storm sewer system. Schemmer provided plans to mill and overlay the existing pavement as well as reconstruct several hundred feet near an existing bridge culvert. The existing pavement was also patched in areas of failure with curb and driveway replacements along the corridor. A complete drainage and storm sewer analysis was completed resulting in several additional inlets and trunk lines to meet the current storm design. Improvements to the existing bridge culvert were made to replace the existing concrete deck as well as add additional pedestrian capacity outside of the proposed roadway. Schemmer also provided construction observation services for this project.
