Project Details
Schemmer was awarded this project, an important second phase of trail development to connect Steinhart Park to Arbor Lodge, Arbor Day Farm and the high school in Nebraska City. As with all trail projects receiving TE program funding, the project required exacting coordination with the NDOT. The environmental review involved the section of trail within the park itself. Since the alignment was along the existing tree line and creek, the trail could only enhance the current use and access to the park. Environmental clearance was required for the Migratory Bird Act and Impact to Historical Properties (Section 106). Additional analysis was required to show there were no negative impacts to the property.
