Schemmer was retained to provide preliminary and final design for the reconstruction of U.S. Highway 30, Schuyler to Rogers, to expressway standards. The project runs from 1.25 miles east of County Road 13 in Colfax County to 1.25 miles east of County Road 19 in Dodge County. The total length of the project is approximately six miles. The proposed roadway will include two through-lanes in each direction that have 12-foot driving lanes, 10-foot outside shoulders, five-foot inside shoulders and a 40-foot depressed median. The alignment will parallel existing U.S. 30 on the north side for four miles from the beginning of the project, then shift north around Rogers to minimize right-of-way impacts to the town. The alignment will tie back in with U.S. 30 east of Rogers. A USACE alternative analysis was completed to minimize wetlands impacts.
