Project Details

The approximately 20,500 SF building includes 5,553 net SF of laboratory spaces specifically designed for existing projects and equipment previously housed in the Nebraska Biomechanics Core Facility (NBCF). This specific aim supports the long-term goal of providing biomechanical expertise to surgeons, physical therapists, biomedical engineers and other related professionals seeking to gain insight into movement-related problems. The construction of separate spaces for the balance laboratory, virtual reality suite, motor development laboratory, robotics rooms, acoustics laboratory and motion capture allows researchers to utilize biomechanical technologies simultaneously in research areas specifically designed for the equipment and the projects. Schemmer, teamed with design architect, Barry Ward for the project.
