Project Details

Schemmer has designed multiple buildings for Valmont at the Valley, NE campus.

In 2011, Schemmer designed a 25,000 SF addition for Valmont’s Irrigation Division. The building is used for racking and parts storage, and is a pre-engineered metal building.

In 2012, Schemmer designed a new 14,000 SF facility for Valmont’s Machine Builders Group. The building is used for equipment assembly and testing in addition to a small office space. The slab was designed for various types of equipment in addition to loaded trucks. The building is a pre-engineered metal building that supports two 10T class D bridge cranes. The two-story office includes an integrated storm shelter.

In 2013, Schemmer designed a 17,000 SF addition for Valmont’s Engineering Division. This building is used for the storage of steel coils and various types of fabrication equipment including slitters, stretcher levelers and shears. Schemmer’s building design included slabs for coil storage, along with equipment bases for various turrets, slitters and recoilers. It is a pre-engineered metal building that supports both 40T and 30T class D bridge cranes.

In 2015, Schemmer designed building modifications for a new oven installed into Building 534. Building 534 is the large pole painting building. The project consisted of building modifications, a new in-floor conveyor system, mechanical design (ventilation, fire protection, gas) and electrical design required for the placement of the new oven in addition to providing design for the renovation work at the existing oven.

Schemmer is currently working with Valmont on a small pole paint line expansion in Building 528. The project consists of an expansion and renovation of the current paint line to increase operational efficiency, requiring an addition and modifications to the existing building. The work includes new preheat/outgassing oven, paint booths, infrared booster oven, powder coating booth, shot blaster and dust collection system. Modifications and expansions will be required to the existing overhead conveyor system.
