Progress at the new Lovely Skin Distribution Center in Gretna, NE
The doctors and staff of Lovely Skin recently celebrated a major milestone being reached at their brand new location under construction in Gretna, NE.
“We’re having a beam signing today,” said Schemmer Architect Michael Sinclair. “This event really allows all the employees and their families to be a part of the construction process. They were all invited to sign the beam and watch it be raised and installed. The beam and its signatures will be exposed to the inside of the warehouse for all to see. It’s pretty exciting to be a part of this.”
At the end of the ceremony, the crews hoisted the beam into place while the crowd watched and cheered.
The new Lovely Skin distribution center is approximately 75,000 SF in size. The space is a warehouse/distribution center and includes an office and retail space. Future plans for expansion to approximately 100,000 SF are included in the design.
“From the design side, we’ve been involved for a little over a year now and the project has been under construction for just a few months,” said Sinclair. Boyd Jones, as the general contractor, has been a great partner in getting this project off of paper and into the air.
Schemmer provided several services for this project including: architecture, mechanical, electrical, structural engineering, civil and geotechnical engineering.
“This is the type of project that the client will only do one time and it’s really a fun process to get them engaged and get them excited and watching them be a part of every little detail. It gives them ownership and that’s really important to us.” Sinclair said.
The project is expected to be complete in 2024.
