Schemmer's Karl Person, AIA, Project Manager; Kelly Hiskey, Assoc. AIA, Design Professional and Tracy Mumford, Principal of the Firm; attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for Daybreak.
Daybreak staff, project partners, Greater Omaha Chamber representatives, City of Omaha representatives and community members attended the ceremony to celebrate the opening of Daybreak's second location at the Center Pointe Building - 9239 West Center Road, Omaha, NE. President, Mark Hausmann kicked off the ceremony with the cutting of the ribbon.
Schemmer provided the design and construction administration for the tenant fit out for Daybreak, a behavioral day treatment center for kids. The space serves two main functions: the classroom function and the treatment function. On the classroom side there are seven main teaching areas with behavioral support spaces, lunch room and kitchen. There is a centralized desk within the classroom area, which allows staff members to see into each classroom and provide support when needed. On the treatment side, there are six therapist's offices, observation rooms, a large conference room and staff support spaces. The design of this project required a great deal of thought regarding security and safety.
