Early founder Gene Gollehon started a civil engineering and surveying firm in 1958. In 1959, Jim Schemmer joined him to form Gollehon & Schemmer Inc. A black Volkswagen "Bug" served as the firm's first survey vehicle.
When Gene Gollehon left the firm in 1977, the name was changed to "The Schemmer Associates Inc." Six decades later, a lot has changed. Not only is the world quite different, but so too is the profession. What began as a land development engineering firm to respond to the high demand of the Baby Boom era, has since evolved into a reputable, comprehensive, full service architecture, engineering and construction field services consultant serving diversified markets from offices located in:
- Omaha, NE
- Lincoln, NE
- Council Bluffs, IA
- Des Moines, IA
- Tulsa, OK
- Oklahoma City, OK.
