Schemmer, along with the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration, City of Omaha and Nebraska Department of Roads (NDOR), hosted a public hearing for the 120th Street improvement project on Thursday, June 1, 2017. The meeting was held at Alice Buffett Magnet School with an open house from 6:30 - 7:00 PM, a formal presentation at 7:00 PM, public forum at 7:30 PM and an ending with an open house until 8:30 PM.
This project is identified as 120th Street: Stonegate to Fort Street. The proposed design would reconstruct approximately one mile of 120th Street, starting approximately 200 feet north of Stonegate Drive and extending north to Roanoke Boulevard. Approximately 500 feet of West Maple Road would be reconstructed to improve intersection function. The bridge over West Maple Creek/Ditch would be widened and the bridge over the Big Papilion Creek would be replaced.
Schemmer's Charly Huddleston, P.E., FACEC, Shane Swope, P.E., Adam Sleeper, P.E., Marie Stamm, P.E., Tracy Mumford, Principal of the Firm and Jill Laferriere, Administrative Assistant, were present. The meeting was held to provide information to the public and to receive input regarding the design and development of this project. The public was invited to present comments and questions on the Draft Environmental Assessment (DEA) prepared for the proposed project. Current design information was displayed and personnel were present to answer questions and receive comments.
