Schemmer's Bellevue City Hall Renovation project was featured in an Omaha World-Herald article. Bellevue City Hall offices are transitioning to the new, larger facility at 1500 Wall Street in Bellevue, Nebraska.
Schemmer provided interior and exterior renovation design for the two-story, 25,000 SF office building that the City will now call home. Services included programming and interior fit-out design for the space to serve as the new administrative offices and council chambers, replacing the outdated facility on West Mission Avenue. Improvements included core and shell work required to bring the building up to code, all new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, complete window replacement, structural floor infills and other miscellaneous work to prepare the building for the interior tenant build out.
The first floor houses the human resources and personnel departments, and the city clerk's office, which moved in this week. The second floor, which includes the administration, mayor's office and finance departments, will move next week.
"The public should be going to the new City Hall for all their needs by the end of the month," said City Administrator Joe Mangiamelli.
Jeff Roberts, the public works director, said the new facility will make City Hall run more efficiently by putting all of the offices in one building with more space. It will also give officials an upgrade from the old building.
