Since 2005, Schemmer has participated in The Salvation Army’s Adopt A Family program, which is “designed to assist families who are in crisis as a result of unemployment, homelessness, medical issues or other difficult circumstances, and who otherwise wouldn't have the resources to celebrate the holidays.”
This year, Schemmer adopted two families of eight. As part of the program, each child receives a gift donated by Schemmer employees. Money was also raised to provide a gift certificate for the family’s Holiday dinner. In addition, we collected enough money to send 11 blankets down to the Open Door Mission.
