Responsible design accounts for aging infrastructure, city growth
Schemmer's Bryce Johnson, M.S., P.E., LEED AP, QCxP, was quoted in the May 1, 2017 edition of the Lincoln Business Journal's Industry & the Environment section, discussing projects that balance minimal environmental impact with maximum positive effect on users and occupants.
Johnson mentioned there is no lack of data and information from the growing list of products that are "smart," and describes the business environment in Lincoln and Nebraska in general as offering "many opportunities to talk about environmental topics."
"Most building owners and occupants have some level of environmental stewardship within them and want to make responsible choices," said Johnson. "The challenge is in incorporating design and operational practices that also provide bottomline value in both first cost and ownership cost of building systems."
