Schemmer's Marie Stamm, P.E.; Matt Hubel, P.E., CPSWQ, LEED AP BD+C and Ian Plummer, E.I.; were elected to the board of the Nebraska Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) during the Centennial Gala and Annual Meeting on May 18th, 2017 held at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium. There were over 150 people in attendance to help celebrate 100 years of ASCE in Nebraska.
Stamm was elected to the position of Director, Plummer to Secretary and Hubel to President. Stamm was also awarded the Nebraska Section award for Special Achievement for Long Term Service and Hubel was presented the Nebraska Section award for Outstanding Service.
Stamm is a past president and considered a great resource and liason to the Nebraska ASCE. She has attended 28 workshops, conferences and committee meetings. Stamm served on four committees and held the positions of Younger Member Group Chair, Webmaster, Vice President, President-Elect, President, Past President and Director for the Nebraska Chapter. She has been with Schemmer for 16 years and part of many roadway design projects for the Nebraska Department of Roads and the Iowa Department of Transportation. Stamm has been an integral part of the project teams for numerous local projects related to transportation.
Hubel has been an active member of the Nebraska Section, serving on the board as Secretary, Vice President and President-Elect. He leads the centennial committee and has been instrumental in arranging activities, volunteers, venues, sponsorships, etc. to achieve the goals of celebrating members, connecting with engineering students and communicating with the public. He has more than a decade of experience in civil engineering and construction, specializing in civil/site design and has been with Schemmer for nearly four years.
Plummer has been with Schemmer for over three years and serves as bridge engineer in the transportation group. He has experience in structural analysis, computer-assisted analysis and design, site and construction inspections and services related to structural engineering, reinforced concrete and steel design.
