Matt Shimerdla, PE

Matt has more than 25 years of diverse experience in all aspects of highway design, urban arterial design and pedestrian improvement projects. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University in Civil Engineering. He is a graduate of the 2019/2020 Schemmer Leadership Academy class and a member of the Nebraska Institute of Transportation Engineers, the Lincoln Engineers Club, and serves on the Lincoln Engineering Partnership Committee for the American Council of Engineering Companies.

• Growing up, Matt wanted to be a meteorologist before deciding on Civil Engineering.
• Enjoys smoking and consuming a wide variety of pork and beef barbecue using his Weber bullet.
• Every Christmas, his family watches the entire Lord of the Rings box set, extended versions.
