Schemmer partnered with Cedar-Knox Public Power District to deliver a series of facility improvements at its headquarters in Hartington, Nebraska. The project included enhancements to the front office, reconfigured interior space, and a new addition for equipment and storage.
Front office updates focused on improving physical security, meeting ADA requirements, and creating a more accessible, welcoming entry for employees and visitors. The redesign supports both functionality and comfort.
To accommodate growth and evolving operations, the existing interior layout was modified to include at least three new offices, a small meeting room, and a new boardroom for larger meetings and district planning.
The project also included a new addition featuring five heated equipment bays and a dedicated wash bay. This portion of the project used a pre-engineered metal building system that complements the existing buildings on site.
Schemmer provided full-service support through every phase of the project: from initial programming and schematic design through construction documents, bidding, and construction. Our multidisciplinary team delivered architectural design as well as civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and geotechnical engineering services, along with surveying, to meet the District’s operational goals and long-term needs.
