Lincoln, NE – When you turn on the tap, you expect clean, safe water, and a lot of planning and engineering goes into making sure that happens. Schemmer is proud to support the City of Lincoln in strengthening its water system through a major project: a new five-mile, 54” to 60” water transmission main along Holdrege Street and North 98th Street.

Our team has provided surveying, drone imagery, defining additional right-of-way needs, roadway design, construction inspection and material testing to assist in moving the project forward and position the City with a dependable water supply for many years to come. These behind-the-scenes services assure the project is constructed correctly to meet or exceed the intended lifespan of the pipeline.

Progress on the Ground

Construction is well underway:

• Pipe is being laid along both Holdrege and 98th Street, with several thousand feet already installed and backfilled.
• Several road crossings are complete, including boring casing pipe beneath the roadways to minimize disruption to the traveling public.
• Welding crews are connecting the pipeline section by section to ensure durability and reliability.
