Schemmer’s Tom Svoboda, PE, CEM, has been reelected as Vice President for Leadership and Mentoring for the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Omaha Post.

In this volunteer role, Tom oversees the Post’s annual scholarship program, which awards approximately $45,000 each year to students pursuing higher education. He also coordinates the selection of local students to attend SAME’s national STEM camps, where high school students can explore careers in architecture, engineering, construction and related fields.

This year, Tom also developed an orientation program to help new Omaha Post members learn more about the organization, connect with other members and find opportunities to get involved.

Tom has been a SAME member for more than 35 years and has served on the Omaha Post’s Board of Direction for several years. His continued involvement reflects his commitment to mentoring future professionals and supporting the architecture, engineering and construction industry.
