The former Family Medicine Building located at 4200 Douglas Street was remodeled into the new Clarkson Commons and Education Center for Clarkson College. This two-level, 14,300 SF project provides a variety of study and collaboration rooms for students; classrooms; student support services; faculty and staff offices; and conference space.

The exterior of the building was improved by the replacement of windows and storefront, siding and finishes. Accessibility was also improved throughout the building including new restrooms. The mechanical and electrical systems were upgraded.

The Schemmer team met with Clarkson representatives to address their goals for exterior colors, materials and graphics, and interior finishes for consistency with the Clarkson College brand identity. The reenvisioned building serves as a central hub of student and faculty activity for the College.

Schemmer provided professional services for architectural design; building information modeling; interior design; structural engineering; and construction administration.
