Jon brings more than two decades of experience as a materials and construction engineer and leads Construction Administration within Schemmer’s Engineering Division. His work focuses on making sure projects are built right, with a strong emphasis on quality, consistency, and attention to detail.

He holds a wide range of certifications for testing and special inspections, including earthwork, reinforced concrete, structural masonry, and structural steel. That hands-on expertise gives Jon a clear understanding of how materials perform in the field and what it takes to deliver a successful project.

Jon earned his degree in Materials Engineering from Iowa State University and is a licensed professional engineer in Nebraska and Iowa. He is also a graduate of Schemmer’s Leadership Academy.

Outside of work, Jon enjoys staying active with hiking, canoeing, fishing, and biking. He’s known among family and friends as “fact boy” thanks to his deep knowledge of random trivia, and he’s highly environmentally conscious, even considering making the switch to an electric vehicle.
