Matt brings more than two decades of experience in transportation engineering, with a focus on highway design, urban arterials, and pedestrian improvements. He has worked on a wide range of projects throughout his career, helping shape safe and functional transportation systems for the communities they serve.

He earned his degree in Civil Engineering from the Iowa State University and is a graduate of Schemmer’s Leadership Academy. Matt stays actively involved in the profession as a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and the Lincoln Engineers Club, and contributes to the Lincoln Engineering Partnership Committee through the American Council of Engineering Companies.

Matt originally planned to become a meteorologist before finding his path in civil engineering, but the interest in how things move and interact still shows up in his work today.

Outside of the office, he enjoys smoking barbecue and trying out different pork and beef recipes on his Weber bullet. Every Christmas, his family settles in to watch the entire extended edition of The Lord of the Rings film series, a tradition that has become just as important as the holiday itself.
