Matt Shimerdla, PE, gave us plenty of reasons to be glad he was part of Schemmer. He brought experience to our projects, enthusiasm to our team, and a positive outlook that we will all remember.

As a Senior Project Manager with more than 25 years of transportation engineering experience, Matt helped plan and design the highways, streets, and pedestrian improvements that people use every day. He cared about our profession and our clients, and he got really excited about the work we had the opportunity to do together.

“Matt and I worked closely on several project pursuits during the last 10+ years. When we won the S. 40th street project together in Lincoln, Matt was so excited. His voice would raise an octave when he got excited which was a common occurrence. He will be missed.” – Doug Holle, PE, Executive Vice President – Engineering

That says a lot about Matt. Even after years in the profession, winning a project still meant something to him. Schemmer is better because Matt was part of our team. His enthusiasm gave us reasons to celebrate that work together and his positive outlook made him a friend we were glad to work with.

We are grateful for Matt and for the time we shared with him. We will miss him dearly and our thoughts are with his family and all those who loved him.
