Project Details
The 28,750 SF historic building consists of a basement area, main floor area (19,506 SF), tiered seating area (5,000 SF) above the main floor and a second floor consisting of occupied space. The focus of the renovation is on the first (main) floor. The new design focuses on incorporating flexible spaces and continuing to utilize the auditorium as a reception and event hall. The kitchen will be remodeled to serve as a food serving kitchen for catering events. More public meeting spaces were included and handicap accessible restrooms were added to the lower and main levels.
Schemmer provided the City of Fremont an initial needs assessment and renovation study, which helped The City understand the condition of the Fremont City Auditorium, its uses, and created ideas and strategies for what it could become in the future.
For the renovation, Schemmer provided architectural design, programming, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering, and construction administration services.
