The Lawson Cryogenic Manufacturing and Repair facility in Gretna, Nebraska supports the specialized manufacturing of cryogenic tanker trailers. Schemmer designed the 50,000 square foot facility to streamline production from raw materials to finished units, and construction is now complete.
This facility brings the full metal fabrication process under one roof to meet the client’s highly technical manufacturing needs. The pre-engineered metal structure includes dedicated areas for raw material receiving and storage, rolling operations, welding stations, assembly areas, and finishing processes.
To support safe and efficient workflow, the design integrates overhead bridge cranes and floor-mounted rails that allow materials and work in progress to move smoothly throughout the building. The layout also emphasizes employee comfort and productivity by including office space and welfare areas such as restrooms and break rooms. The building was intentionally planned with expansion capabilities on multiple sides to support long-term growth.
Today, the facility gives Lawson the space, efficiency, and workflow structure needed to support high-quality fabrication from start to finish. The integrated layout improves production flow, enhances safety, and helps employees work more comfortably. With built-in capacity for expansion, the facility also gives Lawson the flexibility to scale operations as demand grows.
Schemmer partnered with Ronco Construction through a design-assist delivery approach. This collaborative method supported timely decisions and helped guide the project to a successful completion.
