Project Details
Schemmer was selected to assist with renovation and program enhancements for the Art, Family Consumer Science (FCS), and Skilled Technical Science (STS) Departments at Lincoln East High School. In addition to the program enhancements, family restrooms were added along with complete lighting upgrades for the gymnasium and large common spaces.
These renovations began with a 3D-reality capture of the space, utilizing a 3D laser scanner for below and above-ceiling investigations. This generated a complete point cloud and virtual walk-through, which served as as-built documentation of existing conditions. This upfront investigation allowed Schemmer to perform an in-house evaluation and test run of incorporating LPS’s standard BIM execution Plan into our typical workflow. Throughout the project lifespan, design and shop fabrication models were utilized to test design intent and construction accuracy by means of a phase-appropriate level of development (LOD). Our team of designers is constantly improving efficiency throughout its workflows to meet the increasing demands of today’s building owners.
