Schemmer was selected to support Keizer Refrigeration’s expansion with a new ~60,000-square-foot, two-story facility in the Steel Ridge Industrial Park in Papillion, Nebraska. Delivered through a Design/Build partnership, the project emphasized efficiency, collaboration, and functionality from start to finish.

The completed facility includes approximately 40,000 square feet of shop space and 10,000 square feet of display and office space on the first floor. The second floor features an additional 7,200 square feet of office space and 2,800 square feet of parts storage designed to meet the operational needs of a growing team and business.

Built with a conventional steel structure and precast concrete walls, the building also features a membrane roof system and shallow foundations suited to site conditions. Its layout and design were modeled after Keizer’s existing facility in Sioux City, Iowa, with updates to support the specific functions of the Papillion location.

Schemmer provided architectural and engineering services across multiple disciplines, working closely with the contractor and owner to bring the project vision to life. The result is a clean, modern, and durable facility tailored to the needs of a leading refrigeration service provider.
