Every student deserves a place that inspires learning, creativity, and community. That vision came to life as Mitchell School District opened the doors to its brand-new high school, a modern and welcoming environment built to support both today’s students and the generations to come.

Schemmer partnered with the District to design the 212,000-square-foot high school on its existing site, creating a seamless connection to the Career and Technical Education Academy and the Performing Arts Center, the latter designed by Schemmer. The result is a unified campus that blends innovation, function, and school pride.

To bring the project from concept to reality, Schemmer provided a complete site survey of the parcels comprising the aggregate site, scanned existing facilities, and developed these scans into 3D models for inclusion in the design process. The team also met personally with each school department to program and refine desired spaces. This hands-on collaboration allowed the District to reduce square footage to align with available funding while planning for future enhancements through a bond vote.
