Region V Services is a non-profit organization that provides education and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in southeast and eastern Nebraska. They were previously leasing space, which was outdated, small, and didn’t provide the accessibility they need for the clientele they serve. Region V Services decided that designing a new building would allow them the opportunity to create a space that truly fits their needs, allow for future growth and flexibility, and better support their mission of helping others. The new building is 10,000 sf of office space including a reception area and lobby, private offices, training and meeting rooms, storage, and flex space. Schemmer worked closely with the Client and the Contractor team throughout the design and construction of this project. The team brought a depth of experience that allowed them to learn from previous projects, ask the right questions, and minimize surprises and changes orders.
