When Schemmer’s Lincoln office outgrew the entire 11th floor of the Federal Trust Building in downtown Lincoln, the search was for space that would provide an opportunity for sustainable design via rehabilitation and adaptive reuse, but also to accommodate future growth. They found the perfect location in the rapidly developing and vibrant Telegraph District located on the east edge of downtown and bordering Antelope Valley.
Making use of an empty 1950’s concrete and brick maintenance garage, the Schemmer team infused a creative vision into the raw space. Daylight pours into the design studio from expansive windows on the north façade, creating an environment that pays homage to the textures and legacy of the space’s former use, but also inserts the high-end technology and level of finish of modern design reflecting the firm’s diverse A/E practice and commitment to design excellence.
