Project Details
The Waldinger Corporation, a mechanical, electrical, sheet metal and service contractor, retained Schemmer to provide site and building design for a new 76,000 SF facility located on a 23-acre site. The new facility is designed to increase productivity by consolidating operations, which were located in multiple buildings. The project includes 23,000 SF of offices and a training center. The remainder of the building will be used for fabrication and production.
The building is constructed of conventional steel framing with load bearing precast concrete wall panels. The office area utilizes architectural precast concrete spandrel panels to maximize the windows and natural lighting. Overhead bridge cranes and jib cranes were incorporated into the building design to maximize production efficiency. A combination of overhead doors, loading docks and interior truck docks were incorporated into the production area. The site design included a lot split, paving, landscaping and stormwater design. The site was designed to maximize operational efficiency while separating pedestrians and cars from the truck drives.
